About Promptbox

Promptbox is an independent collection of original browser tools created and maintained by Adam Chen. The project began with a simple idea: when an everyday or business problem is repetitive, confusing, or poorly served by existing software, build a focused tool that makes the task easier. The site includes calculators, media utilities, productivity tools, experiments, writing, and selected AI-assisted projects.

What makes the tools useful

Each maintained practical tool is designed around a specific job rather than a generic demonstration. Examples include sizing a photograph for printing, converting a short video to a GIF, comparing profit margin with markup, calculating business days, and evaluating whether additional sales can justify a lower price. The information panel on each featured tool explains its method, gives a practical example, and identifies limitations that matter when interpreting the result.

Authorship and maintenance

Adam designs, tests, and revises the tools based on real problems and user feedback. Promptbox does not claim that every calculator replaces professional judgment. Financial, scheduling, document, and statistical results should be checked against the governing agreement, official source, or qualified adviser when a decision has legal, financial, or safety consequences. Privacy and file handling

Many Promptbox tools perform their work inside the browser so the source material does not need to leave the device. When server processing is necessary—such as video compression or temporary file transfer—the applicable tool explains that behavior and any retention limit. Users should keep their own originals and avoid uploading material they do not own or have permission to process.

Advertising

Promptbox uses advertising to help cover hosting and development costs. Advertising is limited to eligible desktop visits on the selected featured tools; mobile visits are intentionally kept ad-free.
