About
Janice uses the shared Gemini helper's default model for chat, attachments, and history summaries. The microphone session starts when the app loads and stays ready unless you close it in Settings. Hold the large button to talk and swipe upward while recording to cancel. Tap the speaker beside the attachment button to enable or disable spoken replies; the highlighted speaker means speech is on. Choose a voice in Settings. Working history is summarized automatically at 150,000 characters, preserving the last five completed exchanges and the current message. The full chat remains available for export. Old audio is retained as text transcripts. Images are reduced to 1024 pixels per side in both the browser and server; PDFs, UTF-8 text, images, audio and video are sent directly through llm_gemini using its default model. Office documents use web_read extraction first; other supported attachments bypass that reader. Messages sent while Janice is working wait in a local queue. Janice uses the browser as needed for web searches, page reading and website interaction without separate permission. Tell Janice not to browse to disable it. Chat and web_read are not callable tools; web_read is used internally only for Office documents. Calculator handles numerical calculations; Twitter searches social posts, stock retrieves quotes/company data, and download creates file links. Browser sessions are separate from your own logins and are closed after the reply when the service is reachable. If the browser service cannot start, Janice stops and explains that no action was sent for that step. Browser page redirects are followed through checked destinations. Page connection failures report that the website could not load; human-verification challenges require human help. Hosting memory/process shutdowns and full browser capacity report their cause. Close unused Hostinger File Manager sessions to free hosting resources. Browser errors with uncertain outcomes stop the task without switching to another tool. Each task has a twelve-action total limit. Janice avoids unnecessary repeated searches. After an unconfirmed close, Janice checks once whether the session still exists without repeating the close. Sessions already gone count as cleaned up. A cleanup warning explains whether a session remains open or the service could not verify its state. Replies use a required structured format; minor reply-only format variations are handled locally without another AI call. Tool requests still require all validated action fields. Multi-step tasks advance one step at a time, showing progress until Janice finishes. Keep this page open while Janice works. An AI helper limit shows whether the daily quota was reached and how long to wait when the helper supplies a retry time. Browser observations include content inside modern page components and allow a short rendering wait. URL navigation waits through redirects and retries one transient connection failure within a 30-second navigation budget. Clicks and submissions are not automatically repeated. Janice retains bounded tool evidence for the current conversation, answers progress recaps without tools, and summarizes findings at the twelve-action limit. Check the result of any action already started before repeating it.
