Kill all the enemies. Bring Ruby Home. Watch out for friendly fire. Revive Ruby if she is down. But it will cost you a life bar. You can Aim, Shoot, Reload, Dodge, and call for Help. Collect green ammo pickups, red medical drops, purple grenades, and yellow gold. Gold buys shared equipment between zones. Scoring is based only on the player's kills, not Ruby's.
Two independent AI streams (jev model from TypeSafe) choose a movement direction (8 directions or stop) and a specific enemy or explosive crate to shoot, at roughly twice a second. Ruby does not use grenades. Ruby recovers health and ammo through these movement choices. The AI only receives the game state and a personality prompt. A Help call adds a high-priority instruction to Ruby’s movement prompt until she reaches the player. The game handles aim tracking, reload, dodge, and collision autonomously.
All Ruby and Chief JEV request attempts are counted on this browser from first load, including failed attempts. After a zone or game failure, a total over 10,000 requires a validated personal API key or the remembered unsafe override. Reloading or starting a new game does not reset this total. Each run allows up to 4,000 decision queries shared by movement and combat, including failed attempts. At the limit, further decision queries and reconnect attempts stop. Enter the dead zone or restart to reset the allowance. Ruby's decisions stop when paused or down. If the network link fails or a decision arrives too late while she is standing, Ruby stops normal movement and combat (she blanks-out). Her emergency grenade-escape reflex remains active. Reconnection is automatic one second after every failed attempt. Normal tactics resume when fresh commands arrive. Ruby's quips are AI generated based on game state.

Gold and equipment are shared by you and Ruby for this run. Either survivor can collect gold; leftovers are banked when the round ends. Upgrades stack by tier, equip both survivors, and can only be bought once. Armor adds health to living survivors; revive a downed partner normally. Save gold across zones for stronger gear. A new run resets gold and equipment.

SAFE ZONE REACHEDTen zones cleared. Helicopter down. You and Ruby made it home.
