Shortform Studio Privacy Policy

Shortform Studio is operated by Promptbox. This policy explains how Shortform Studio handles information when users create videos and use the optional YouTube upload feature.
Information Users Provide
Users may provide video ideas, scripts, titles, descriptions, tags, uploaded or generated media, and YouTube upload settings. Shortform Studio uses this information to generate scripts, media, narration, thumbnails, and finished videos.
Google User Data and YouTube Upload Permission
Shortform Studio uses Google OAuth only for the YouTube upload feature. The app requests the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload, which allows the app to upload videos to the YouTube account the user authorizes.
Shortform Studio uses Google user data only to authenticate the user and upload the user's finished video and thumbnail to YouTube. The app does not read, download, sell, share, or analyze a user's YouTube library, comments, private messages, analytics, contacts, or unrelated Google account data.
OAuth Tokens
When a user connects YouTube, the server stores OAuth tokens securely outside the public web directory. Tokens are used only to complete YouTube upload requests initiated by the user. Users can disconnect YouTube, which removes the stored token from the server.
Generated Videos and Temporary Files
Shortform Studio may temporarily store generated images, narration, music, subtitles, thumbnails, and MP4 files while creating or uploading a video. These files are used to complete the user's requested workflow and may be cleaned up automatically.
LLM and Media Helpers
Shortform Studio may send user-provided ideas and scripts to Promptbox helper services and third-party AI providers used by Promptbox to generate text, images, audio, metadata, and media. These services are used only to provide the requested app functionality.
Sharing and Sale of Data
Promptbox does not sell Google user data. Promptbox does not share Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide the requested YouTube upload and video generation functionality, comply with law, or protect the service.
Security
Promptbox uses server-side token storage outside public web paths, HTTPS, rate limiting, and error logging to protect the YouTube upload workflow. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but Promptbox limits access to the data needed for the requested feature.
Children
Shortform Studio is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
User Choices
Users can choose not to connect YouTube and can still generate and download videos. Users can revoke app access from their Google Account permissions page or use the app's disconnect function when available.
